Ivy Hedge's Wonderful Teachers

Miss Candy

My name is Miss Candy and I am the Pre-K art teacher as well as the Assistant Director at Ivy Hedge.  I have proudly taught art for 27 years and have taught to two generations. I love working patiently with the children while encouraging them to make their very own master pieces.

Miss Judy

Hi, I’m Ivy Hedge’s Pre-K reading readiness teacher. I have a degree in Early Child Education from Lasell College in Massachusetts. I came to Ivy Hedge in 1981 and haven’t left except for some maternity leave. I am proud to say all of my own children and my grandson are graduates of Ivy Hedge. You might say it’s a family affair! And, Ivy Hedge is a family. Not only is it a great place to send your child it is a great place to work. So come visit me in what Miss Candy calls “Judytown”.

Miss Ellen

This is my tenth year teaching the beginners at Ivy Hedge. I taught Gymboree for nine years and read during children’s story time at Barnes and Noble as well. I love making arts and crafts with the little ones, it’s a wonder what they can do! My favorite month is March because it is Food Month at Ivy Hedge. Making fruit salad with the kids is a lot of fun. My daughter is now 20 years old and is also a proud Ivy Hedge graduate.

Miss Yvonne

I have been a member of the Ivy Hedge family for 15 years and my three children graduated from Ivy Hedge as well. I teach math to the Pre-K class. Years ago a math program consisted of gluing shapes on a page and counting numbers. Here at Ivy Hedge I have developed a math program that gets the children ready for kindergarten but at the same time gets them to love math and have fun with numbers too. This is one of our most important components of this program – having fun with our friends. The teachers here are great friends too!

Miss Jena

My name is Jena-Marie and I have been teaching at Ivy Hedge for eight fabulous years. I teach art in the Nursery class and was mentored by one of the best, our own Miss Candy! Ivy Hedge is such a family-oriented school and I just love to watch the kids grow and mature from September through June.

Miss Sue

Hello, I first came to Ivy Hedge as a parent with my oldest daughter. I was so impressed with the curriculum and I felt an immediate bond with the staff and teachers. All three of my children attended and graduated from Ivy Hedge. What I love most about working here is to see the excitement on the children’s faces when they learn something new. I also love all the hugs I get when the children come to school.

Miss JoAnn

This is my third year at Ivy Hedge as the Pre-K gym teacher. I am an active mother of four lovely children so I really enjoy all of the constant excitement and busyness of the kids here. I love to help the children play and have fun with each other.

Miss Kim

This is my third year teaching at Ivy Hedge. I teach Spanish as well as the kindergarten enrichment program. You would be surprised how easily the children learn new words in Spanish and how eager they are to learn another language! I believe Ivy Hedge has a great atmosphere and encourages learning while having fun too. I love the kids as well as the teachers I work with.
